Thanks to our innovative products and great team – we are proud that the business is continuing to grow, we now have an opportunity for a Cost Accountant to join our professional Advanced Materials team based in Midsomer Norton.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within our fast moving and progressive Advanced Materials global business unit, part of the world’s largest producer of printing inks, pigments and functional coatings.  Within the role you will be heavily involved with the business and operations managers and will play a pivotal role in providing detailed and high-quality analysis of the manufacturing operation providing financial support driving the profitability of this important and rapidly growing area of the business.

The Role

The jobholder will have the financial responsibility of Cost Accountant, Advanced Materials

with specific responsibility for:

  • Product costing
  • Margin analysis
  • Inventory control and provisions
  • Raw material cost tracking
  • Monthly management reporting
  • Support Latest Estimate and Budget preparations as required

The role will provide the necessary control and support to the Operations managers and will involve  liaising with the Business managers to help drive sound business decisions, thereby maximising profitability and reducing business risk.  The Cost Accountant will also ensure that the company’s accounting policies are followed and will work with our internal and external auditors to ensure that the company remains fully compliant in all areas.

Qualifications / Experience Critical for the job Holder

Part qualified CIMA or ACCA, with at least 3 years of experience

Strong excel skills

Experience of SAP useful but not essential

Highly motivated and be able to work both on your own Initiative and as part of a team.

Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to analyze and use data astutely

Ability to work to deadlines

Experience of working in a manufacturing operation including product costing
